H1) Can you explain better what is the difference between your two hosting packages?

First of all, as an introduction to this question, please see my article which (as of this writing) is under "General", G2, How small is small.

As BRap Hosting grew in experience, at a certain point in time I made a strategic decision to work with more than one data center. All data centers have their ups and downs in terms of quality service, and also, because of reasons that I talked about in the above mentioned article, sometimes they have to become unreasonably strict. I decided that I didn't want BRap Hosting to be bound by the whims of one computer platform. So I work with a number of data centers. For that reason I am able to offer two different kinds of packages.

For the reasons that I mentioned in the above article, most shared hosting platforms do not allow you to have sites with audio/video streaming on your site. This is usually included in Unacceptable Usage (whether or not it is actually spelled out openly), and you can be suspended for having such sites. I have been suspended for having sites with streaming lol. Basically the reason is that streaming is heavy on computer resources, unless you have special software which costs them money, and they don't offer such a service on an inexpensive shared hosting platform.

Now, the truth is, this doesn't have to be a limitation for you if you agree to do all of your video streaming on YouTube. You embed the YouTube video on your site, then the streaming is coming from YouTube, not from your server. But if you need your own streaming, and you are not big enough to justify getting an expensive VPS platform, then you have a problem.

To solve that problem BRap Hosting has for you a hosting package which is more flexible in its definition of acceptable usage. However, this package has a disk space limitation of 2 gigabyte, which is still a lot. If you need streaming, and you can live with a 2 giga limitation, then take this package.

This package also permits another leniency which most hosting packages forbid as Unacceptable Usage, that of using your server disk space allotment for your hard disk backup. Most data centers only allow uploading sites and their related files, not files which are clearly backed-up in nature.

You may notice that in my Terms of Service I stipulate that I don't allow backup usage of server diskspace. The answer is that I need this spoken out because of the main, unlimited, hosting package. Also, I need to protect myself, since the definition of "Unacceptable Usage" is something that can change from time to time. However, for this package, currently, using the server diskspace for backup is OK. This I have in writing from the middle of 2009.

So, if you need the leniencies of streaming and backup capabilities, and you can limited yourself to 2 giga disk space, so then take Package B. But if you can do without streaming from your own server and make do with YouTube, or if you need more disk space than 2 giga, so then take the main unlimited Package A.

Both are at the same attractive price of $35/year. And both have unlimited bandwidth. Just that please see the previously mentioned article that clarifies that even though there may be no bandwidth and/or disk space limitations, still, Accaptable Usage limitations still may exist, especially regarding bandwidth.
